I think that all animal should be treated with respect, not just slotterd for our pleasure. I myself am a vegetarian. I wouldn't even think of hitting an animal unless thats when I spank them for doing something really bad. Have you ever seen the way the treat them at the slotter house its awful I can't stand to see them go though so much pain. It makes me want to cry. I think hunting is wrong and so is killing animals to eat. Iwould like to here your comments about this.

I think it's okay to eat animals, because alot of us would become sick or unhealthy (not all. I don't eat meat and I'm fine, but my mom doesn't eat meat either.). But I hate how they treat animals at slaughter houses. The way they kill them is pretty inhumane too. In some places, we need to hunt because we messed up the enviroment soo much. Until we can get our predators back in the places that need them, I think hunting is alright. But what I hate is when we hunt them inhumanly, for ex. shooting a deer in the leg, and not even looking for it. That deer is gonna go through alot of pain, so they should atleast look for it to put it out of its misery. I think hunting wolves from airplanes is unfair and inhumane. Wolves who escape being shot are almost dead, as many will likely starve, unless for some very small luck they find another wolf and some territory. Pups have no chance if they escape.

I totally agree. I think its okay to kill chickens, cows, deer, (if done humanely, like Lozoloz said) and fish. But horses, cats, dogs, birds, and other animals like that is just sick. With horses; what they do in the slaughter house is terrible, and with cats and dogs, what they're doing in China. I've seen disgusting results on Google that I didn't even mean to come across, but I've come up with terrible pictures of animals being slaughtered. I think it should be stopped and illegalized.

I think the idea that eating cows, pigs, chicken, and fish is alright because people breed them for that purpose... but how they kill them is a whole nother story entirely... it's sick it is disgusting and it is just plain WRONG! Useing dogs and cats for consumtion in Korea? It makes me want to vomit... and I actualy did when I saw this very disturbing Korean commercal of them chopping the heads off of little kittens... and some weird happy music playing in the backround. Oh yes and what about animal testing??? They test make up on millions of rabbits each F***ing year!!!!!!! not to mention conditioners, shampoos, cleaning products, etc. in some pet food companie labs they feed their brand of dog or cat food thay claims to enhance muscle growth for a few months then they chop up the animal *while it is still alive mind you* and see the muscle tissue to see if it has grown or not! It is just disgusting what we do... Also killing for sport? that one should be banned from the face of the earth.... it's not sport... it's f***ing MURDER! *you have inflicted this apon yourselves for starting this thread because I go INSANE when it comes to animal rights.*

The Japanese don't eat cats and dogs.
--Edit--
I just wanted to say that, while I agree with some of the ideals of animal rights activists, I do NOT agree with many of their methods. (Some of which are straight up STUPID. Lets release hundreds of minks on an unsuspecting ecological environment where they will wreak havoc. Stupid. Lets blow up labs! Stupid. They need to think before they do stupid things like that. They don't do anything but make people hate the activists for hurting people and even the animals in the long run.)

When I think of animal abuse, and killing, chills run up and down my back, and I feel like crying. I POSITIVLY HATE people who abuse animals. I think they should be shot, or killed the way they abused those animals! My friend told me she acidently found these pictures of kittens, where this guy fed them this bone relaxer thing, and put them in jars, and let them grow that way. It wasn't true though, thank god! If I EVER see, or hear anyone talking about animal abuse, I would punch them. My other friend, she's a vegan, was walking in the hall, and heard a couple 8th graders talking about skinning a rat, while it was still alive. If I was there, I would have tapped them on the shoulder and said. "And how do you think that would feel? How would you like it if I did that to you?" and then punched them. I wouldn't care if I got suspended or not. UGH! I HATE PEOPLE WHO HURT ANIMALS! I do eat meat though, but I think they should humanly put the animals down. I hate how horses are killed for meat. Even horses with broken legs, I mean, what the f**k?!

China is a completely different world compared to North America. Its not a fair comparison at all. The Chinese probably hear about us North Americans eating cows and think its wrong. They.. like... worship cows over in China (I believe). I'm not saying I agree with it. On the contrary, I am appalled at what those animals go through, I am just trying to give another perspective...

on a side note kishi *very unrelated* what is that in your signature? I'v been stareing at it for about 5 minutes.... It's cool and I want one..... The dog critter is something I made. (It's still getting bugs and tweaks done to it, but I adopted one as a pet and thought I'd show it off. ) He's a "Chatterbeast". Basically, he's based on a creature from Hellraiser: Bloodline. The critter in the movie USED to be a person, but through sucessive changes, was turned into a dog-like cenobite. (If you aren't familiar with Hellraiser and are interested, I suggest checking out The Hellbound Web. cenobite.com ) I now return you to your regularly sceduled thread, already in progress. And, dreempup, that bonsai kitten thing is a JOKE. No one stuffs kittens in jars, bones relaxed or otherwise. I'm going to hunt down the person who made the site and bill them for all the time I've wasted explaining it to people. LOL

Not all Animal Activists do this. The ones you are talking about are PETA and ALF, the two worst ones on the planet and known for their extremism and terrorism. There are plenty of legit groups out there that don't use these kind of extreme methods, but I'll have to list them tomorrow as I'm exhausted... >X.x;<

I was talking about the extremists. I thought it would be obvious when I mentioned the bombing and unthinking releases of animals. The other folks are fine. (I didn't think it would come out sounding like I was saying they were all bad...)

I've seen disgusting results on Google that I didn't even mean to come across, but I've come up with terrible pictures of animals being slaughtered. I think it should be stopped and illegalized. I completely agree with you. Humans naturally eat meat, and that's how we developed out big brains over such a long period of time... a high-protein diet is needed to sustain a large brain. Plus, more proof that humans are actually predators is the teeth. Just looking at a slicing canine of a human, clearly built for severing and cutting a bit of animals' meat for it to eat. I say that if other animals should be allowed to eat meat then we should as well. Nature gave us that ability. Now onto hunting... a very different subject in my opinion. Hunting deer for food is a very stupid idea to me. Look at the stores. Guess what? Tonnes, literally, of meat and dead animals are wasted because people don't buy products. Earth already has food on it so why do you need to kill more creatures and take even more lives just because you think deer tastes better? That's stupid. And when I see pictures of people kneeling down beside a corpse and smiling at the camera, it makes me feel so sick... blah. We should be allowed to eat meat but just because we have to kill to eat doesn't mean it's a good or positive thing! It's a horrible thing that we have to kill to live... Straying a little from the subject, now onto hunting that's not for food and other bloodsports... such as bearbaiting, badgerbaiting, foxhunting, harecoursing, and the like. These are the most barbaric of crimes to me. To kill an animal in such a way is just... sick. It makes me want to rip people's backbones out when I hear about these terrible things. Murder is no sport, and anyone who takes pleasure in causing so much fear, pain, and suffering to an innocent being should be ashamed of themselves. A lot of the time, I say they couldn't be human to do such a horrible thing... but then again, humans do things like that. So in a way, they are more human. It makes me ashamed of my own species sometimes... with so much arrogance and snobbiness, thinking we're so wonderful and high... people like that are just low. What kind of sick pleasure could anyone somehow twist out of slowly ripping an animal to shreds when it clearly has done no wrong and cannot fight back?! For the slaughter bit... I know little about it so therefor have not much to say on the subject. I once watched on TV a cow get hung upside down when it was unconscious {or in shock, I don't know} and they slit its throat, and its blood all gushed out of its jugular... it was awful. I ran upstairs and cried for a while because I felt so bad for it. But then again, if it couldn't feel anything, it's probably one of the more 'humane' ways I guess...

Heck, don't get me wrong, I am totally against animal abuse, but why does killing cows and stuff become acceptable just because they are bred for that purpose? I'm not vegitarian, but we could also say we can kill cats and dogs because they are bred for the purpose of being pets. But people would object because they are all soft and fluffy.
We were doing this as a topic for RS recently. Lots of interesting information. Animals testing in labs... The videos I had to watch... People don't even know the correct number of animals killed because rats and mice 'aren't worth counting'.
I don't believe in vegitarianism for a second. No offense to anyone who is one. Humans are naturally omnivourous, and we can see this just by looking at our teeth - For chewing vegetables and greenery, to tearing meat. If one person doesn't eat beef, a farmer isn't going to think 'I won't kill this cow. She can live a nice life on the farm'. It will be killed too, and there's nothing you can do about it. It isn't only meat for humans that is made when they kill those things, so they won't let it go to waste. Seemes pointless to me. And please don't preach about how 'If every human didn't eat meat, no animals would have to be killed', 'cause lets face it, that's never gonna happen.

Ya, humans would naturally eat meat. But I don't think it's right the wayt they kill them. I totally believe animals go to some sort of after life, let it be ours, or some other, and what if they lived horrible lifes. Like in puppy mills, ooh, I HATE puppy mills. They breed dogs just for the sake of other dogs! These poor dogs are kept in small cages, treated horribly, and hardly ever fed, or given water. Then, the puppies that are born will usually have really bad diformitees, and get horid health problems later in life. These are the puppies that are in the pet stores. I urge you, if you are going to get a pure bred dog, please stay away from pet store puppies. Lots of times they are not taken care of properly, and like I said, can have serious problems that the store owner wont tell you about, just coz they want to make a few more bucks in there pocket. Just coz they are healthy at this time, doesn't mean they will still be healthy in 5, even 3 years. So, please, say no to pet store puppies.
