okay I'm sticking my neck out here but what the hey.
Religion.
Its that biiig scary thing that people kill each other and agrue over.
I'm Pagan. And I'm extremely proud of it. I love to hear of other people's religion and I love to have a FRIENDLY debate over them.
My first debate would have to be over: Creation.
Did the lord really creates us in the seven days?
We're created from the evolution of science?
Perhaps we came from other planet... on the spaceship that crashed but we forget our past knowledge.
Come and debate with me!!

Ooooh, this is where I really have opinions! ;D
I am a devoted Christian. Sure, I don't actually go to church every Sunday, but I was christened, believe in all God's teachings and everything like that. I am totally willing to accept other peoples veiws, but I personally can't understand why some people would be so paranoid about how religion is wrong. I think everyone needs something to believe in, and you can't understand how helpful it is to be religious until you go through some rough times, and turn to faith for help.
I believe we were created by God. But that doesn't mean I don't believe in evolution. Things don't have to be black and white - Christianity has many different branches. We're not all 'God shall d**n all you non-believers to Hell...', 'coz that's just mean to say that kind of stuff to people. As far as creation goes, yeah, I think God created the world, the universe, everything. And I believe he's there in every person, from the moment they themselves are born.
But that's just my veiw. Not saying everyone has to agree with me.

Hm. I have no religion. I've seen far too much evolutionary stuff to say that it just doesn't exist. (One person I met said that dinosaur skeletons were completely fake and made up. Sure they are. That's why you can randomly pick up rocks with fossils in them.)

Hmm. I have to agree with Jess, since my religion falls under that. I mean, sometimes I question it...but it ultimately comes down to my faith when I think about it.

I believe we were created by God. But that doesn't mean I don't believe in evolution. Things don't have to be black and white - Christianity has many different branches. I'm sorry, but things are black and white. The bad news--we're sinners, which means we have fallen short of God's perfection, which means we should be doomed. He doesn't allow imperfection in His presence. The good news-- we don't have to be perfect anymore. Jesus took the rep for everybody. He already paid for it with His life. Yes, people have many different views on Christianity. But "Christian" is a really odd label that has become quite a stereotype in recent years. Christian means "Christ-follower". I am a Literalist, which means that I take the account of Creation in the Bible word-for-word to be true. I believe in micro-evolution, but not macro-evolution. Seriously, when something mutates because of natural processes (like a random 3-winged chicken--we had one) it dies and is no more.

*Nods* Good point there Kel. I can see where you're coming from. And about being a literalist, I don't know. I am a Christian, but I do believe there are some gray areas left un-touched.

I am not a Christian. In fact, I'm not religious. I'm Agnostic, meaning I believe that there is no proof either way.
Although, I do believe that what everyone calls "god" is the life force that keeps everything in the universe going. It keeps us all alive, keeps the planets turning, keeps order in things (life, death, adaptation, evolution, extinction, reincarnation, etc). So I do not believe in an invisible man in the sky who is watching us, but in God as the life force of the universe.
I also don't believe we disappear when we die. I do believe that we have souls (there is energy running through all our bodies), and they don't just disappear. Matter and energy do not just cease to exist. They are turned into something else. So our souls could possibly be "recycled" in that they can just be transferred to another living thing that is born (reincarnation). And I am content with that. >^_^<
I also have no problems with other peoples' religions/beliefs, as long as they don't push them upon others.
And I do believe in evolution.

*feels like giving Cheetah a big hug* Basically, what you said is that I think in a nutshell. (Then again, I also have with wildly crazed idea that all Gods are the same one, only seen through other people's eyes...but heck. People've been burnt at the stake for things like that. )

I agree...
To be honest, humankind created their own gods. WE make them into what we feel comfortable.
As for spirit, I'm a big believer in reincarnation, as I have memories of places I've never been to.
Although no-one is truly perfect we can get close to perfection.
Everyone's morals are extremely different, for example:
Its be okay to one person to tell a little white lie but out of order for another person.
I have to agree with Cheetah's last statement: " I also have no problems with other peoples' religions/beliefs, as long as they don't push them upon others. "
THis I completely agree with! The amount of times I've had gohov witnesses knock my door, tell to me I must convert to get redemption...plus my grand-parents are Gohov witnesses too... doesn't help.
I just confused them but over-debating my religion that earns me five minutes of peace.
I spent so many years studying and looking through the world's religion so I could find something that felt right, and now I've found it... I'm not giving it up.
Kishikat, you're not the only one who believe that all gods are same.
well not exactly the same, but different branch of the lord and lady (or orisis and Isis, depending on your patheon).

Indeed. I actually did a minor bit of looking into many religions and found that the same themes kept repeating themselves and came to the conclusion that they were all principally alike.

Mm. This is going quite well. I can see where everyone is coming from in their own opinions. Smart people you guys are, and so mature about the whole thing. <3

we rock BAK, there's nothing to it. I mean we're all smart, intelligent people who have grouped together for the same reason. To debate and discuss other ideas was the point I started this thread, and I hope many other people would gave their opinions. Kick-flare ps: If anyone wants to know about my chosen path you're more than welcome to ask.

Lol, yes, that's what it is. *Smiles* That's exactly what it is. I just think it's great to have so many different people in the same environment getting along. Nothing like school, jeez. xD

It's because on the internet we can go "Argh! You're a big dumb dumbyhead!", walk away and cool off then come back and be sensible. (Actually, I'm kidding. But it really does give you time to think about things before responding, at least on a forum.)

Lol! That is so true. I have to do that sometimes...when it's a touchy subject for me. But creation is now biggy for me really...we're here and alive. Why does it matter where we came from? xD
