Ok, I am a dog shower/breeder and we have Kennel dogs. They stay in a kennel all day, all night. There's indoor access. Food and water. But, my mom is getting rid of Mika. She says that she's to small to breed, so she's gonna get her a nice home. I said why. She said that Mika probably hates it out there. She get's patted on the head once a day and that's it. But here's the thing. Don't all the dogs feel the same way? I said that, but she said they have a job. Dogs don't know the meaning of job! What do you think?

Do any of the dogs live toghether? If not then they should get some more attention, or you should have less dogs (most breeders limit the amount of dogs they have to around 20((not including new puppies or for adoption)), or from what I heard they do.)
You don't have to do it yourself though. You can ask for help from friends. I do some part-time working at out local Jack Russel Terrier breeder, and since those dogs literally would do way worse in an apartment than a great dane, they need alot of interaction. I help with walks and playing, sometimes feeding but not so much that.
But it's true, dogs don't understand the job of being a breeding dog. Maybe a working job, but not a breeding job.

1. Yes, the dogs live together. We watch them, cause' our breed (Shiba Inu) is same sex agressive.
2. Actualy, I help my mom a lot.
3. Yeah, I guess so. But I just feel so bad!
My mom is now going to keep Mika until she's 2! Just to see if she grows up more. ;D ;D ;D ;D

Well, personally...I don't really like the idea of a dog having a job being a "breeder". I mean do you ever walk them or anything? Do they ever go to the park and meet new people? Ever tried having them in like small community things such as a dog festival if present?
I'm not ragging, I promise. I just don't see dogs as a source of money.

I thought that, too. But breeding isn't for money. It's to keep the breed of the dog alive. You know, I've wondered what the world of dogs would be like without breeders. The dogs would all probably be mixed and not pure. We walk them, groom them, bathe them, give them love, and take them on trips to Stoney Creek-a GIANT group of parks and a nature preserve inside too. We were going to a bark park today with Mika and Beni, but it rained. My town doesn't have dog festivals. 4-H shows, but we can't enroll them in 4-H because they are show dogs. When they're retired, mom said maybe.

Whats wrong with dogs not being pure?
Sometimes I wonder what the world would be like without breeds, and breeders just bred dogs for their personality and such..

See loz, that's what I do. I have two Border Collie bitches. One is used for breeding now, Brynn, and one will be bred maybe once or twice. But they have great personalities as well as the sire. Not to mention the working lines in them are awesome. Brynn is a Champion herder where as Merlyn, the sire, has all the show lines. So not only are their bloodlines exceptionally great, their temperments always come out well, I know, I kept a puppy from Brynn's first litter. This is her second littler and she's going on 3 1/2. So we keep her breeding spaced.
I have to go now though. And there is NOTHING wrong with mixies! I have 3!!
