Good grief. o.o I knew some dog foods were not that great, but this is worse than I ever imagined. Blecch! Can't wait to see your chart, Cheetah.

We have to feed our Great Pyrenees a special diet because of her kidney problems... apparently, when she was a puppy our other (piggish) dog stole her food all the time, so she contracted problems from malnutrition. We feed her fresh chicken and scrambled eggs for the protein, and that's pretty much all she'll eat now.

If I lived on my own, I would only feed my dog organic buffolo, and other organic products, like carrots and chicken and eggs, and other stuff. My cats to, except one of my cats is kinda raw meat intolerant.

I have dogs life! lol! Yeah, and I think that's sick... they're pretty much creating cannibels(sp?) out of our pets! -gasp-

PETA is who I think originally said that IAMS abuses their test animals. They tend to exaggerate things X 100 if you know what I mean lmao... Never trust what PETA says until you go by other sources first. Anyway, I don't like IAMS much anyway because their food contains corn, by-products, and possibly a few other things that suck... I'd have to look at my chart to be sure of what else, but I'm at work right now lol... *growls* Yeah, I've heard of peta. Their views on animals are strange... and supposedly, they find that one kind of animal abuse as being 'alright and perfectly normal' even though it isn't. But I won't mention it here since kids are about and it's sickening. If you want to know what I'm talking about, PM me or something... Meh. This whole cannabalism thing is just gross and wrong. ><;

Ew >.< THAT's why my cat turns his nose up at the food my parents buy him >_> I tend to just give him some proper meat or tuna rather than tinned anyway but... blergh X.x What makes this all the worse is I've eaten dog and cat food before because I wondered what it tasted like xD

Everyone probably has once haha...
In regards to feeding fresh foods, yeah I think that's a good idea. But you have to be careful that it's balanced. I'd suggest throwing in vitamin and mineral supplements... if a dog is only eating chicken and eggs, it could begin suffering from a deficiency, which could cause lots of problems and vet bills lol...

Yeah, I don't think I feed him enough pure meat to make him ill though I'm too lazy xD Besides, I like the tuna myself If I had a proper choice, I think I would give fresh meat with the vitamins, as you suggested... costly as it would be... at least then I'd know what they were eating ;

Might I suggest 'Solid Gold' pet food? It's excellent and ALL natural. No doggy byproducts. I get it from a holistic pet store here in Oregon, but it's nationwide. I'll post a link to their website when I find the address. This is what I feed my boy and he's never been healthier.

I feed Canidae. Iams has a crapload of corn in it... I've found that every dog that's fed food with corn in it sets off my boyfriend's allergies, whereas my dogs that are fed corn-free, by-product-free etc. food do not cause any reactions in him whatsoever. I'm convinced that what a dog eats affects the amount and kind of dander they produce, after testing this theory with my severaly-dog-allergic boyfriend lol...

Any other brands you could suggest? I've been feeding my Border Collies, Innova. Which is supposed to be very good for active dogs. But the lady at the pet store special orders Canidae for me. xD www.naturapet.com/display.php?d=product-detail&pxsl=//product%5B@id='1304'%5D There's a link to the food I fed them. Now my dad has them on something different. <_>
